The surf season runs from mid February to November which coincides with the south-west monsoon, when the best swells are created by winter low pressure systems in the southern Indian Ocean. A mixture of excellent surfing and weather conditions are seen in March and April.

The water is quite shallow on the surf and the coral beds sharp and protruding, therefore reef breakers are sometimes quite tricky to surf. Most of the times due to the availability of very few good equipments, it is better that the surfers bring all their equipment with them.
